Life with The Comforters

Better late than...

New demo download is available on our "Download's" Page.

We have a lot more to add to this one - but we'd thought we'd give you a rough sketch at least  : )

"Would It Break Your Heart?" is the working title right now.

and I had a lovely birthday week(s)...thank you very much!

Happy Monday,

~p

New Download coming and Happy Birthday to my bro!

Next Download - Coming very very soon!
I've been making merry for my birthday and that is why we are a
bit behind getting it to you : )

It will be a new one called "Would It Break Your Heart?"

Last night was splendid. Testface played an awesome set and Whiskey Priest closed out the night with his sweet and melodic songs. The folks at Sam Bond's Garage were terrific. A good bunch of the fine folks of Eugene came out for a mid-week show and they were a great group. We had a blast playing and it was a really warm and receptive environment.

Jason played a fantastic set, if I do say so myself. I love what he comes up with on the electric and he is just so rock solid that I feel so secure up there. I'm a lucky gal.

Happy belated birthday to my kid brother Brian!

Happy Tax Day

Such a nice day outside...

Friday night's show at The Indigo District was a blast.

A big thank you to Leona Laurie for having us play.  Ehren played an awesome set of new songs from his upcoming full length album.  His song, "Earthquakes" was stuck in my head long after we got home.

Everyone who worked the Indigo District was super nice too.

It really was "such a nice day outside," and inside too : )

I posted a video of "Strange" from the show on our video page.
(Thanks to Leona and Ashley!)

Happy Day - for me and my favorite comfy song

Okay, so now and then I will swing  by the Comforters' music page at the iTunes store - just to see what's up.

And over the last year I have watched "Lazy Sundays" and "I Want To Rock" wrestle eachother each week for the top spot on most downloaded song (for us). And it is not just with iTunes but with the other online stores. All of the fancy info I get back from the "powers that be" seem to confirm this trend.

But this morning, low and behold, "Young Republicans" was in the top spot and I was so thrilled.

What's going on?

Must have something to do with the political season and all.

Don't know why I have such a soft spot for that tune - I had very little to do with that one. Jason wrote it. But I've always liked that song best and now it seems (at least for this morning) other folks do too.

Trombone and Bass and Vocals...yippee!

and I didn't take any pictures...GRRRR!

But we did have a lot of fun this weekend. We were working on a song called (at this point), "Would it Break Your Heart." J tracked bass and some guitar parts and I tracked lead vocals. Our good friend and local troubador, Dan Jones, came by and laid down some horns for a section or two. It was a lot of fun.

Walrus was fascinated by the trombone and wanted to hang out with Dan while he played.

kooky dog.

Tracking Drums

Rawk.

little vid.

I posted a little video in the "About" section for "I Want To Rock."

It was filmed in a couple of hours by our new friends and budding young film-makers, Carson Hughes and Jason Von Scott - both of whom remind me of my kid brother, Brian : )

Walrus made sure she was involved.

Somewhere on the editing floor there is footage of her dancing.

Happy Spring!

It's here!

Spring!

So sorry to have been quiet in the past few months. It has been busy with the studio, work, and with day-to-day life business. But we're happy to have a solid chunk of time this week just for recording and we're taking full advantage.

So we're hunkering down here at Big Timbre this week and recording like crazy. Jason's been tracking drums, bass and electric guitars for a couple of new tunes and he's right back at it this morning. As usual, Walrus keeps attempting to get onto the tracks one way or another. I recorded a scratch vocal on Monday and her growl is all over it!

Also you may have  noticed that something's up at Myspace today - a glitch of sorts - looks like it's affecting a bunch of bands and I'm sure it will all sort itself out soon.

I'm off to the studio myself now to work out a few arrangement changes and hear what new ideas J has come up with.

Hope everyone is enjoying a bit of spring weather and spring optimism too : )

Seamus

Hope everyone got a chance to listen and download "Seamus" - this month's download.

It's an old tune from Jason's youth :) when he was in a band called, The Flavor.

I had a chance to see Jason play with The Flavor many years ago - at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano. They were opening for The Young Dubliners as a matter of fact. I think we may have a video somewhere...

good times.

I'll leave the download up for another week or so.

Happy St. Patty's Day!
